Stepping into the bookshop,
a smell permeates the air.

It intrigues me,
luring me to stay.

Walking past each shelf,
I breathe in deep,
feeling invigorated,

What’s in the smell?
I hear the waves beating against the shore,
the cows mooing in the distance,
freshly cut grass,
children’s laughter,

Stories of adventures,
of daily life,
history behind,
with facts and figures floating in the air,
the world’s knowledge at my feet.

I take a deep breath,
the worldly smell seeps into my skin,
filling me,
making me whole.
