A little caterpillar smiles to rejoice in life’s small delights;
laugh, to cheer over huge gifts of joy.
Retreating into a shell, she frowns over little pebbles of set-back;
cry, to release the effects of swallowed bitter pills.

Transforms she would, puts on a new garment,
prepares to take on the world again,
as a little butterfly to fly high and far,
carefree and mighty.
