Lying on the bed,
looking up to the ceiling,
I say, thanks for the roof over my head.

As the cold draft sweeps in,
the radiator quietly made its presence felt,
I say, thanks for keeping me warm on a chilly night.

My stomach smiles in fullness,
the taste of dinner faintly felt on my tongue,
I say, thanks for giving me food.

I continue to lie on my comfy bed,
relaxing, breathing in and out,
I say, thanks for providing a warm nest.

Here I am, living a dream,
doing and learning things I enjoy,
I say, thanks for my family’s support.

Little things pass by silently and quickly,
so routine, so minute, we forget,
that each fraction of a second counts.
