I chanced upon this word – “mellisonant” from Jyoti’s “Random Scribblings” entitled Sheer Joy of Belongingness. In the third line, I was stunned. What’s that? I have never seen that in my entire life – once again emphasizing – the more you read, the more you realise the vastness of knowledge.

According to thefreedictionary.com, it means pleasing to the ear. In other words, melodious could also be used interchangeably. I haven’t been able to locate the origins of this word yet but I found a person’s blog called the “mellisonantmind”, hence I suppose it should be considered quite a common word.

Let me try to use it – The mellisonant tune of the all-time favourite band touched the depth of my soul.

How’s that?
