Bitterly cold wind sweeps past,
snow flakes floats down,
the finger numbing chill,
frozen feet barely moves.
“What’s that?” I exclaim!
Glitttering lights up front,
merry music drifts near.
Warmth approaches to befriend.
“Could it be…the magical land?” I gasp.
Eternity disappearing that instant,
Snow flakes turning magical under yellow glow,
I blink again, yet again.
Smiling faces surround me,
joy and hope fills the air,
shouts of delight everywhere.
Winter no longer cold,
body no longer shivers.
What I have sought for,
and I have arrived.
Finally my last chapter of 2011 – Seasons of Change – duly completed. Took me a long time, but I got there.

Thanks very much to the Poetry Palace, I have received the Perfect Poet Award Week 60 – my first award in 2012!
And I would like to nominate brokenpenwriter for the next award.

I could sense the warmth coming over you when you arrived! I especially like “winter no longer cold”.. it pits the phsyical against the emotional in just a few words. Tell me more about “2001-Seasons of change”!

It’s supposed to be my first proper season cycle. On my own, the first inspiration hit me at Hyde Park on a Sat afternoon while waiting for a friend – funnily it ended in Hyde Park too. That’s where I got my pic from 😀
After the first piece, I kinda thought of a second one and then – third one followed. So I decided to finish up with a fourth one. I had some ideas but they were not coming together, and I actually wanted to compose the fourth one when I was at Hyde Park. Unfortunately it was freezing cold and I was underdressed. Hence I could only take pictures and thought to craft it when I got home but I never got around to it. Hence it was slightly delayed.
Now I have the entire bit piece. I might start on a new season for 2012 – not sure. I will wait for inspiration to grab me!

Thanks Christine! I enjoyed it myself at the end of it. Infused with a little mystical settings, this is the first time I have attempted it and it looks to be turning out well:)

Thank you for your kind nomination, Die Reise. I often think of summer, spring or autumn festivals as special, but you caught the unique color and magic of a winter festival, using it as a metaphor for the life that waits for us when we finish here – that golden life, when amidst all the frozen “death” around us, we become warm and everything sparkles in a state of joy. Nice piece!

My very pleasure! I love the seasonal changes – personally I feel that experiencing the seasonal changes allows us to build up appreciation of our environment – changing, a cycle – the perfect settings of life. It’s great you enjoyed this piece! 🙂
